The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a suitable background, with a relevant mechanical engineering qualification and will possess a strong desire for delivering excellent product quality and customer service in a safe working environment.

Knowledge of rotating equipment will be an advantage, however experience in general mechanical equipment repairs will be sufficient, as on the job training will be provided.

Excellent communication and team working skills are essential.

Purpose of this role is to inspect pumping equipment for repair method selection, carry out dimensional surveys, produce inspection reports, compile bill of material list and produce AutoCAD drawings.

The main tasks and responsibilities include:

Participate in meetings upon receipt of equipment to understand the scope of repair, desired turnaround time etc.

Complete initial and primary Inspection reports determining the optimum repair specification with regard to quality.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis to identify failure modes and determine opportunities for technical improvement.

Compile Bill of Materials and Service requisitions for all parts or repair activities required.

Compile job specific quality plans for repair and retrofit projects and subsequent tracking of quality activities.

Perform quality control functions including witness checks and verification that the defined repair requirements are met.

Dimensionally inspect components to determine optimum repair methods based on client requirements.

Components and produce AutoCAD drawings to support the drawing office.
