We are working with our client based in Aberdeen to source an experienced Finance Manager.

This is a permanent role

General Duties

 

  • Responsible for preparation of monthly controlling reporting to group and local management

 

  • Preparation of annual budget, rolling financial outlooks and financial forecasts according to Group Requirements.

 

  • Monitor and analyse monthly operating results against budget. Prepare flash reporting, a week before monthly reporting and any other ad hoc reports requested.

 

  • Liaise with Group HQ in Hamburg, Germany.

 

  • Oversee daily operations of the finance department, including employee performance, appraisal, objective setting, employee communications and team building.

 

  • Working capital management for UK entity, including weekly rolling cash flow reporting.

 

  • Maintain relationship with bank including ongoing maintenance of confidential invoice discounting arrangement. Regular submission of sales invoices and credits, month end reconciliation and month end report to bank.

 

  • Manage the preparation of statutory financial statement, (Both UK – GAAP and IFRS) while liaising with third party external auditors.

 

  • Manage annual Corporation Tax compliance, liaising with tax advisors.

 

  • Oversee payroll processing using an external payroll bureau.

 

  • Manage VAT and payroll tax filing and reconciliation of tax submissions.

 

  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.

 

  • Maintenance of fixed asset register.

 

  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop UK business plan.

 

  • Establish and implement short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Qualified C.A. ideally with industry secondment or accounts preparation experience.

  • Working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. Needs to be able to work well with all levels of management.

  • Must have the ability to work to tight deadlines, have excellent communication skills and display a professional and positive approach.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Microsoft Navision experience is an advantage.

  • Advanced Microsoft skills required – particular emphasis on Excel Microsoft Navision experience is an advantage.
