Key Accountabilities:

Ensure compliance with Drilling Management System / HSE Management System / Well Delivery Process and all relevant Government Regulations.

Ensure effective well records are established and maintained

Define the safe operating envelopes for all wells and communicate these to the Asset and inform the Asset when Well Integrity and /or General Visual Inspections are required.

For each well prepare and issue the Well Integrity Testing procedure. Validate the integrity test results, maintaining the well failure model and communicating any failures, concerns and /or actions.

Provide technical discipline expertise to support the BU on all relevant well integrity and well intervention issues, including but not limited to cost estimates, (scoping, budget and AFE’s) operational programmes, risk assessments, management of change & dispensation.

Represent and participate in operator / industry forums to build external relationships and learn best practices.

Support the SCM function and manage our service providers to provide top quartile performance, identifying new technology and technical improvements.

Liaise with the Well Examiner with regard to well integrity and well examination compliance.

Prepare all reports (including the annual well integrity report) as requested by the Well Owner, the Technical Authority and /or the Well Examiner.

Support the BU with regard to audits or requests from HSE / OGA / BEIS / Oil & Gas UK, internal (etc) and provide assistance with regard to any questions / queries.

Influencing others to adopt best practices.

Ensure consistent application of Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Processes and ensure these are applied to all activities, from planning through to execution.

Build relationships with our contractors to provide a high level of service quality, ensuring cost effective solutions and best in class industry practices.

Financial Accountability and Dimensions:


Relevant degree preferred, but appropriate training & development with a known operator acceptable (minimum 10 years industry experience with 3 year operator).

Level 4 Supervisors IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control Certificate.

Medical and relevant offshore certification to allow offshore travel UK North Sea.

Skills / Experience:

Extensive experience in well integrity and well intervention operations; to include experience working with a known North Sea Operator.

Proven track record for operational design, planning and execution for well intervention well servicing activities from semi-submersible, jack up, LWIV’s and fixed platforms (covering both surface and subsurface Xmas Trees).

Proven knowledge and track record for HS&E delivery, experienced with incident investigations.

Technically competent and knowledgeable / experienced in drilling, completions, well integrity, well interventions and well servicing equipment.

Knowledge (eg systems, software, procedures, regulations):

Good working knowledge of the UK North Sea Regulations.

Good working knowledge of drilling design and well construction best practices.

Good working knowledge with semi-submersible, jack up, LWIV’s and fixed platform operations in the UK North Sea.

Strong IT skills with knowledge and ability with Microsoft office package.
