Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer required for 12 month contract role with major north sea operator based here in Aberdeen. 




Our client currently have an opening for a Senior Rotating Equipmentr Engineer for initially a 6 month contract with potential to move into a staff permanent role based here in Aberdeen.


It is essential that candidates have the following experience.

Preferably a chartered mechanical engineer or actively working towards gaining chartership.

Operational gas turbine experience specifically Solar, Siemens and GE. Gas compressors including  Nouvo Pignone, Dresser Rand, & Siemens. Pump experience including main oil line export, fire pump and seawater lift units. Caterpillar diesel engines.

Contract Management experience desired.


The primary purpose of this position is to provide discipline engineering support to UK operations to ensure equipment integrity and regularity

 The role

 Responsible for defining equipment/system performance standards and specifications of new equipment.

  • Responsible for monitoring equipment/system performance initiating and ensuring corrective actions.
  • Responsible for discipline engineering and maintenance support to UK operations.
  • Responsible for Technical Controlling documents for engineering discipline



Primary Functions



  • Establish long term facility modification & maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout facility lifetime.
  • Provide input and strategy for activities related to transition from old to new facilities, including participating in review of outstanding workload and optimisation of modification portfolio.
  • Responsible to provide budget input/scope for maintenance and modifications.
  • Responsible for continuously challenging technical solutions, engineering performance and cost of modification projects.
  • Respond to technical queries.
  • Provide technical ownership of minor modifications through FEL and execution phases.
  • Provide optimised preventive maintenance program, including detailed work packages for UK operated facilities.
  • Follow up of Research and Development projects.
  • Provide technical support to Operations teams when requested.
  • Responsible for equipment performance including spare part management and warranty follow up.
  • Responsible for contract management for relevant contracts.
  • Deputise for and assist both the Mechanical Handling & Valve Technical Authorities with:
  • Lead and develop functional excellence and continuous improvement within the relevant engineering disciplines.
  • Focal point for relevant standards and ownership of relevant Technical Controlling documents




  • Ensure communication with Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Support safe operation of offshore installations of varying age.
  • Ensure Asset Integrity and meet operating efficiency target.
  • Balance opportunities for improved operations within budgets
